Jangan nak bangunkan Alor Setar sahaja, banyak lagi tempat2 lain perlukan bantuan.

BUTTERWORTH: Hindu temple committees should stop wasting money on lavish consecration ceremonies that could run into millions of ringgit, said MIC president Datuk Seri G. Palanivel .
He said they should instead use the money to buy land, shoplots or build community halls that could be rented out to generate income.
“Some temples spend RM2mil to RM3mil on consecration ceremonies and beautification work.
“They should reduce such expenses and conduct more social work as well as community activities instead,” he said after a piling work ceremony for a RM4mil community hall at the Arulmigu Karumariamman Temple in Seberang Jaya here.
Palanivel, who is also Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, praised the Chettiar temples and Catholic churches in general for having the foresight to invest in land and property for the future use of their communities.
“I will seek some funds for the particular community hall project via the department's 2013 special allocation for the Indian community.
“MIC has given out about RM30mil to Hindu temples, Tamil schools, Indian NGOs, and also to a few churches and Sikh gurdwara through the department's allocation for this year.
“The amount did not include the RM100mil the Federal Government gave out this year for the renovation and upgrading of Tamil schools nationwide,” he added.
