GOMBAK: A 21-year-old woman’s complaints of excessive bleeding at a hospital near here led police to the discovery of a stillborn hidden inside a closet at a National Service camp.
“The woman visited the Selayang Hospital emergency ward yesterday at noon complaining of excessive bleeding.
“However, upon inspection, the doctor discovered signs that she had recently given birth,” said district police chief Asst Comm Abdul Rahim Abdullah.
He said the woman was working at the canteen of the Templer Park National Service Camp here and is from Maran, Pahang.
The doctor alerted police and upon questioning, the woman admitted to having given birth at the NS camp toilet and wrapped the baby in a batik cloth and hid it inside a closet in the workers’ quarters.
