KDNK negeri Selangor lebih besar dari KDNK 1Malaysia!

SELANGOR has long been a key state in Malaysia when it comes to industrial and economic development.

These days, its plans for further prosperity rest on more than just factories and trade. For one thing, the state government is looking at various initiatives to make Selangor a leading knowledge and technopreneur hub.

The idea is to transform the state into a knowledge-based economy (K-economy). The state's economic growth, paired with the right infrastructure, says Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, will ensure that the plan remains on track.

The state government recently said it projected the Selangor economy to expand by 5% this year. Usually, Selangor's gross domestic product (GDP) growth outperforms that of the national GDP. On the infrastructure side, according to Khalid, the state has the most higher learning institutions, technical centres and professionals.

In addition, its per capita income is the highest in the country. To achieve an ideal K-economy platform, he adds, a conducive environment is important.
